Slight improvements in demand pushed prices up on the wholesale grain market on Thursday in the process of slow trading, dealers said. On the cereals side, Guwar prices rose sharply by Rs 500 to Rs 13000-14000, other items maintained overnight levels in the process of slow trading, they said.

On the rice sector, irri-9 Sindh picked up by Rs 200 to Rs 5000-5200, other types managed to hold overnight levels, they said. On the seeds side, Til low type held overnight level at Rs 5100 while the fine type gained Rs 300 to Rs 5600, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh (old) was unchanged at Rs 400-500 and cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh (new) low variety was inert at Rs 850 while the good type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 950, they said.

On the grams side, Grams Australia No 1 lost Rs 150 to Rs 6350-6750, Grams Australia dall No 1 inferior type was down by Rs 200 to Rs 7700 and the best type was lower by Rs 300 to Rs 8100, grams 50x50 followed same trend, losing Rs 200 to Rs 7000-7400, they said.
